If you say the word monkey as 'munkey'...
Then why isn't this beast a 'dunkey'?

Why's his food in a trough, not a 'truff',
But his ruff is (correctly) quite rough?

If we knew, then we'd know,
Why we mispronounce 'sew',
Not to mention new, now and no!!!
