"Some hae meat and canna eat,
And some wad eat that want it;
But we hae meat and we can eat,
Sae let the Lord be thankit"

                        Robert Burns

I'm not a fan of Robert Burns, but I do like haggis, neeps 'n' tatties once a year.

The late ex-Laird's party-piece used to be the recitation of 'Tam O'Shanter' at the annual Burns Supper, while I just remember the humiliation of having to take my turn to read (aloud) parts of it when we studied the poem at school. Being a 'foreigner', not only did I not understand it, but neither could I pronounce it properly.
