The Wofflings Of A Doris

Basil the Siberian Hamster?

The snow in the back yard was messy this morning, didn't have to wait long to see what had been causing the disturbance!

I took a few photos of Basil through the window, perched on my little stepladder, and watched it for ages as it dug down through the snow with its nose to find the seeds and Frosted Shreddies (hurrah, at least something likes them!). It ran back and forth with its stash to a hole in the wall behind the plant pot. Low light, high ISO, long lens, slow shutter, balancing on a stepladder - recipe for wobbliness!

Nice quiet day photographing birds through the window (at last, got a reasonable photo of our wren), ironing and trying to be organised - although tea backfired slightly when what I had planned to cook all day had to turn into something else. Perhaps when you decide to cook a pasta and meatball bake you should check you actually have more than 12 pasta twirls.

Back to the mag pile, but could be distracted by the mountain gorilla programme on the tv
