The Wofflings Of A Doris

Eeking out the mealies

Our wren was pipped at the Blip post by Basil yesterday, so I spent a lot of time pointing the camera at her today.

She/he? looked really sweet with the snow on the end of her beak , awaiting her live mealy fix. Basil did make an appearance during the morning to cart off half a crust of bread I'd thrown out for the blackbirds. It was the same size as his hole in the wall. He was soon back for the Frosted Shreddies. Wren and robin have been peering in from the window ledge most of the day and the mealworms are starting to run low.

Didn't get out until quite late for a walk but combined it with tea, pud and a Dizzy Blonde at the 'other' local pub and pondered about where in Europe we might want to go for my 'big' birthday in August - Michael Portillo has a lot to answer for with his Great Continental Rail Journey programmes. Only narrowed it down so far to somewhere in Europe that won't be roasting hot, lots to see and do/photograph, with good train links to see other places.

The photo mags might be replaced with a bit of holiday research tonight...
