About to turn

Lincoln

An old barn near the Quaker village of Lincoln. We took our kids to Lincoln Elementary School when they were that age. This involved driving the back, unpaved roads of Loudoun County, for some reason usually listening to an old Dire Straits album (on tape. My car still has a cassette player :)).

The village was founded in the 1750s as Goose Creek, and was renamed  when Lincoln became president. It still centers around the Goose Creek Meeting House.

Occasionally I drive home that way after dropping off the kids at their high school a few miles up the road. Today I wanted to take a picture before the sun disappeared, which it soon did. Always enjoyable to revisit the peaceful and sparsely traveled back roads.
