The Barrier (AT240)

For this week's abstract challenge Ingeborg has set the theme as Landscape. My blip is an ICM view of a piece of landscape we would rather like to make our own if only the current owners would come off the fence and decide if they want to sell it to us :-)

It is a long since disused railway line in a cutting.  Disused pre-Beeching, so not much chance of it coming back into use!  We have done some clearing of junk and branches overhanging our current fence, but it really needs more TLC.  Several self seeded ash trees look to be succumbing to dieback which is slowly advancing along the line so we have cut out the worst and/or most likely to fall into our existing garden  and given some Blackthorn saplings space to grow into.   My blip is one of the ash tree branches which we have propped up as a temporary barrier to slow down our grandchildren before they fall into the cutting.  Aside from that, the cutting is a haven for wildlife and being 4m deep and subject to flooding it could make a brilliant wildlife photography spot.

Blipmeet possibilty:
Fitzbilly and I are thinking of organising a blipmeet for mid-March in Bourton on the Water.  A picturesque Cotswold village with wet weather possibilities - going just before the school Easter holidays should give us a reasonable chance of good blips.  More info here in the community pages - let us know your preferred date and we'll get on with a recce in February.
