Putting The "Chore" Into Chorley

Yeovil made hard work of earning a draw against bottom of the table Chorley this afternoon: despite having the majority of possession against yet another team who came to defend in depth and hope to snatch something, we were rather pedestrian in our build up play, finding it hard to break them down and failing to take our chances when we did so. It all made for a difficult watch.

Needless to say, Chorley got what they were aiming for, scoring with their only shot on target, following a long ball over the top, just before half time. After that they just defended in even more depth, and wasted as much time as possible, even more so when they had a player sent off with 20 minutes to go. We finally got the equaliser we just about deserved with two minutes to go following a goalmouth scramble; it was credited to our no.17 Marc Richards but we reckon it was an own goal from the defender lying prostrate on the goal line. His reaction rather gave it away.

This morning saw us back at the park run. I was pleased to finish in under 30 minutes for the first time since our trip to St Lucia, combined with the Christmas festivities, gave me a little more weight to carry round!
