Abel Tasman National Park

A big adventure today. We drove to Marahu to meet Stu the owner of Abel Tasman Eco Tours. The Golden Future Boat Tour took us to explore some of the ecosystems in Abel Tasman National Park. Stu is a trained biologist wanting to open our eyes to the riches of this stunning area. The boat took us out into the bay looking for big things, whales sharks etc but they were hiding today. In the many little bays we saw cormorants shag godwit, several kind of oyster catcher, seals heron and egret to name but a few. Coffee and cake in one bay, lunch in another. All the bays 4-5 hours walking from Marahu and so only accessible by sea. A wonderful day.
