Kaikoura

Photography cannot begin to capture the mighty splendour of this beautiful land and it is a privilege to see and enjoy it day by day. Each place we travel through exceeds expectations. Today we drove the long way to Blenheim and our hosts described it as boring. Nothing could have been further from the truth. The road took us through forests over mountains, through a wide flood plain then through massive vineyards which covered every scrap of land in sight. We reached the coastal road to Christchurch expecting the mountains would be in the distance but they dominate, towering over the narrow coastal plain. Another day with temperatures well into 30s. Wonderfully the car has air conditioning.
