Quod oculus meus videt

Winter Colours

A pleasant day, with some sunshine from Midday.  We had a walk in Sutton Park, with a quick stop off at The Bracebridge for a coffee before the majority of the miles were ticked off.  SO much of the Park is similar to my childhood, though in some areas a new management regime has been introduced, allowing new growth to develop where once was open heathland.

I've always picked up on the purple hues of the smaller branches of silver birch trees when bare and in this location the newer saplings have merged into a bank of vegetation about 6-8 feet high.  I just liked the contrast between their colour and the more mature tree in front, covered in green from the moss and lichen.

Day miles 4.4 miles, Total miles 184.1 miles
