Drying off

Decided against going to work today and stayed inside until late in the day when I had a brief walk at Western Springs Park. It is so quiet now without the scores of geese running at every human they spy; expecting bread. Seven were all I could see this evening

A bit of trouble with the aperture control saw a number of photos be far too dark. Fortunately it came right before the Kawau paka surfaced after a couple of dives, and then jumped onto the rock. A little bit of stretching and preening before hanging out its wings. When I moved for a different angle it flew away to a tree on one of the islands in the lake, where there were already a couple of other little shags.

The spoonbills were also photogenic this evening although a little too far away for detail, so the kawau paka was my choice.
