One daze at a time...

Gaily going to Gartan

Luca is seen here struggling with the second of his three bags.

Rucksack #1: games
Risk - the idiotic meme game - chess - playing cards - 1 bluetooth headset, 1 wired headset, 1 pair of in-ear speakers (the ones that don't work too well because of the in-ear wax build up...)

Rucksack #2: chargers - power banks - mountain boots - treats

Holdall #3: the one packed by Mrs Raheny. Changes of clothes for about three weeks (they'll be gone until Friday). They may get wet. The weather forecast is unsurprisingly what you'd expect for Donegal at this time of the year: shite with poxy spells.

There is a very strong that he will not be able to repack it at the end of the team bonding experience. It was already bursting at the seams this morning, when packed neatly by his mum and with dry clothes. There could be a worthwhile bonding experience for a whole team on Friday to make sure that:
-       He does not leave half his stuff behind him
-       They manage to get all seven pairs of track suit bottoms, ten pairs of socks, underwear and t-shirts, thermal underwear, waterproof gear of all size and description, CPR machine, back-up CPR machine, half a ton of toiletries and medicine to cover anything from eczema to the coronavirus back into the black bag...

Mrs Raheny had spend a long time making a list as exhaustive as I can be of all the items he couldn't possibly survive without for five days. I candidly asked if he was taking a pack of condoms and she was part horrified part appalled at my suggestion of the one useless item he would never need. Not her baby boy...

And after much fretting and last minute recommendations, and last second reminders, and last nanosecond warnings they were gone to the meeting point, a good forty-five minutes early.

Have a great time Luca! Your laconic reply to my sarcastic text (extra) does not fool me. I know how excited you are. Have fun!

PS: I slipped a three pack of condoms in the little pocket on the outside of the bag, next to where Mum carefully placed the foldable operating theatre and its generator.
