Aruba

We docked this morning at 0829 after our sea day yesterday.  We walked into the town and had a look around.

This iguana was scurrying around by the seaside.

Aruba is a tiny Dutch Caribbean island off the coast of Venezuela and unlike much of the Caribbean region, it has a dry climate and an acid, cactus-strewn landscape.  Renowned for its white sandy beaches it is a people tourist destination.  Constant trade winds bring cool breezes to the area and the European influence is clearly visible from architecture that features Dutch gables painted in tropical pastels.
