Paragliders at the Dune

What a beautiful day! It was approximately 70 degrees today, the hottest it's ever been during my whole stay. Luckily, it was good timing to go the beach and the dune in Arcachon.

The sand dune we went to is called the Dune of Pyla and it's the largest sand dune of Europe! It is an hour away from Bordeaux by train and it was pretty cool. What did we do with the dune? We climbed it and triumphed. We conquered that dune and we celebrated by doing handstands on it. haha. It felt good just falling down on the sand.

The view from the dune was gorgeous. We saw the forest behind us and the beach and the Atlantic Ocean in front of us. It was really relaxing. Going down the dune to get to the beach was really fun, but it was a pain to climb again to get back to where we had started. Nevertheless when we got back to the other side, we rewarded ourselves with ice cream.

About this photo, as we were sitting and taking in the views there where paragliders preparing to glide along the dune. There were three of them it was awesome to see them fly. One of them even got so close to us when he was passing by. His parachute must have been a good 4 feet away from us.
