On a rock by itself

A late morning departure for Snells Beach, resulted in a slow drive between the end of the Motorway and Warkworth. Even so it was little longer than it used to take us when we first started going north to visit S' mother. At that time the motorway nort ended before Albany, more than 20 k short of where it now ends near Puhoi. Construction is proceeding on the extension to Warkworth, nearly 20 km further north than where it currently ends.

Later this afternoon I went down to Southend of Snells Beach, around to fidelis Beach, around the next headland to Algies Bay before climbing up to Highfield Garden Reserve. On the way I saw bird Nº 48 for 2020.

Tara, the white fronted tern. By itself on a rock just offshore. Normally seen in groups, I don't know why it would be on its own.
