Family Fun

It was parkrun day today and we were down to marshal.  I love standing on my spot cheering on the folks, it does you the power of good!  Today we had 212 runners, up on last week and lots of new faces plus a few parkrun tourists.  Thankfully Storm Ciara did not arrive so it was a pleasant morning for running and there were lots of smiley faces.

Tony disappeared up to the allotment after lunch to do some preparations for the new season, which included moving some blackcurrant bushes to more accessible spots and taking out the peach tree which has had leaf rust for the last two years and not produced any fruit.  Meanwhile I started uploading 900 parkrun photos.

Soon it was time for a shower in readiness for a Hobbler night out at the Alhambra.  It was Joseph and his Technicolour Dreamcoat and was a fab production with us trying hard not to sing along to all those familiar songs (we got to do the singing during the encores!)  From the theatre we drove to Akbar's restaurant for yummy curries and much story telling and laughter, such good people the Hobblers.  Now I'm home and listening to Storm Ciara building and whistling around the house.  Thinks it will be a jigsaw day tomorrow.

My blip is of a great family who have recently discovered parkrun and enjoy themselves immensely as they run around the four laps of our course.
