Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

By NannaK

On the ferry.

Met up with some island neighbors on the 8:55 ferry...Judith and Harry and Cathy.   We had a good chat with breakfast.  We were told to stay seated and were not allowed on the decks because of the wind... which wasn’t a gale anymore, but there were huge thumps from this boat that runs when some of the larger ferries can’t.    When we got back to our car in the front where it’s open, it was covered in salt water.
Next adventure to get from Montague harbor to our dock.  It was ok in Montague harbor but we debated heading for the public dock which is more sheltered rather than going N into the NW wind.   The thot of hauling all our stuff from there was daunting so we decided to go for ours .  Might have been a mistake.   But we managed to get tied up and hauled 2 loads up the dock .... I could barely stand upright on the slippery heaving dock in the wind that almost blew me over.   Decided to leave the rest til it was calmer.
(I’m too old for this. )
Extra is H trying to keep his hat from blowing away..one can never appreciate the water conditions or the boat or dock bouncing.  I was afraid to have the phone in hand on the dock.  But it wasn’t  raining and there was some blue sky!   Happy to be here  but I did retreat to the studio, after a good fire in the cabin, turned up the radio opera loud ( Faust by Berlioz) and tuned out the wind.    Think it’s calmed a bit so we’ll get the rest off the boat soon.
Enuf of a weather blip !
Added a couple more extras from the dock  at 5:30 ..moon coming up and sun having set.
