Storm Ciara

Bert got a lift from a colleague to go to work. I'd rather not have him go by bike.
I went outside to enjoy the sun and the strong wind.

When we came to live here in the south 25 years ago, our new neighbour told us that the wind is never really strong here. He even claimed that the weather was always much better here in Limburg. For your information; we moved here a couple of month after the last important flooding of the Maas, which had caused a forced evacuation of as many as 250,000 people further down the country, downstream.
Since then we have seen trees, that were blown over and gutters, that were blown away and we experienced that an old river, which no longer existed, flowed through our basement due to the annual high water levels. Oh, and we had the longest summer that very first year and as you know, the hottest summer last year.

As to say, Ciara is not that special.
