We defied the storm

The prospect of entertaining the boys inside all day wasn't one I was looking forward to, so decided not to do it.

Had to do a small shop this morning - trying not to buy a single thing at the moment given that we move this week (OMG!), but seems we need things like milk and cat food (and packing tape!).  Cooked up some soup, bought some bread rolls, packed the picnic blanket, marshmellows and a burner for an 'adventure'.  We came home via the local woods, which were, of course, deserted, having trampled our way through, learning how to tread down brambles and generally find your way through a wood (the path was too muddy to walk on).  So, we had hot soup, toasted marshmallows, got a bit wet and had quite a bit of fun.  Not a single complaint or concern from two boys who thought the whole thing was great.  The woods acted as a wind break, so barely any wind once we were in.

On the other hand, the poor husband took six hours to do what is normally a 45 minute journey from London as the trains were all a mess.  He walked in as dinner was being served, so he got some of his timings right!

Last week of work, think I'm starting to feel a bit uninterested in things there, which after three months of notice period I think is probably about time!
