My nickname for the latest addition to the St Roud family, who is already nine months old. Lovely little human bean. Sat on my lap all through breakfast, good as gold. Got some smiles too. Lovely to catch up with her mum, we haven’t seen each other in a while.

Central Heating day 1. The boiler is in, most of the new valves have been fitted. New rad installation tomorrow, some outside piping and a good flush through should see us toasty for what is left of winter. Usual bullshit abut not sticking to schedule, having overrunning jobs elsewhere, the dog ate my spanner and the right size widget not being in stock. That’s normal in my experience

Busy day on the domestic front. TSM ignored mine and the doctor’s orders and did a long working day. Came home grumpy and talking like Darth Vader for which she later apologised. When you’ve been through a shitty time a bit of anger is probably a sane response.

Nice surprise from the Oscars, with Parasite making movie history.

Saw a dead pigeon on the way home. Even in the midst of life there is death etc.

Finally finished His Dark Materials about six weeks late. Sad last episode.

Actually got through the day without a snooze, unusually for me ...
