Macclesfield Sunrise

Mum-in-Law had spent quite a comfortable night but apparently had become restless about 5am, possibly with pain from her fracture, so the District Nurses had been in to give her some more pain relief which had helped her to settle. We wanted to see for ourselves how she was so after a quick porridge pot we went there, taking the chance to grab a few shots of this wonderful sunrise on the way. Happily we found her sleeping very peacefully. My Editor sat with her most of the day, with breaks for meals, but knowing how restless I get if I don't get at least a bit of a walk each day she sent me off for a while to get some exercise.

During the afternoon the nurses returned to set up a constant slow infusion of pain relief, which had been planned following a discussion with her GP yesterday. Hopefully this will save her having intermittent episodes of discomfort followed by multiple one-off doses. Certainly when we left her about 8.30 pm it seemed to be working well.

The care which MiL is receiving is second to none - very impressive indeed.

Thanks so much to everyone for their kind words and thoughts.
