Sunbeams

Yesterday's calf

A coat has been put on the little calf so that it doesn't waste energy trying to keep warm.  It has just started to take milk from its mum but still has a little way to go yet so we keep an eye and feed it when it needs a little more nourishment.

The mother is a South Devon cow and the calf is crossed with our Aberdeen Angus bull.

The other photo is of the chickens who have suddenly found a sheltered sunny spot now the wind has dropped.  There are still large puddles in the lane but it is so peaceful now after the storm has passed.
