Sunbeams

Narcissi

The Narcissi are early bloomers here, their buds open well before the daffodils on the bank below the chicken run.  But now we also have some daffodils, primroses and snowdrops gracing our garden and on the lane outside.

The calves broke into the very clean small dairy K has to mix milk powder etc and really trashed it.  There were five of them in there when I walked down to the yard this afternoon.  Impossible to get them out by myself since they are so tame and the others were pushing them up from behind, so went for help and A, our stockman's partner appeared and even poor B from his flu sickbed came on down.  We managed to get them out but had to power wash everything down and they had chewed various things and really made a filthy mess!  They had also broken a couple of empty bottles so we spent ages routing around in the water and dirt picking up shards of glass and other rubbish they had managed to deposit outside!  The calves had been playing with the latch and pushed it up where it stayed and the metal door flung open.   B secured it with baler twine.  All the while T and K and little I were having a lovely day out at Wookey Hole!
