Art in Bloom

Dear Diary,

This is the second year I've visited the Art in Bloom exhibition at the Portland Museum of Art where various works of art are paired with inventive floral arrangements.  A very long time ago I worked as a florist and I appreciated the skill of the designers.  Birthday Joe and his wife came with me and we also visited the Jewish Museum to see the exhibits of art and photography.  A photographic exhibit of Holocaust survivors living in Maine was very moving.  Rhonda's father, whose sister was killed in one of the camps, would have been 96 this day so it was in their honor that we went.  It was a day of beauty and profound sadness for all of us.  But there were lighthearted moments too when Rhonda posed with Marigold so they both could show off their pantalettes!  (Extra)
