Floods

We went up to the East Midlands today for a family visit and we saw just how much the River Soar had overflowed and spread across neighbouring roads and fields.  This area is, of course, by no means the worst hit in the country, but the flooding is still severe.  We were told that many roads had been impassable a day or two ago, but the water seems to have subsided a little.  However there is more rain to come.

We seem to have escaped remarkably lightly at home just north of London.

There are a few more pictures on Flickr.
