A Day Worth Recording

Planning ahead

Vital Lacerda, the guy who designed the game "CO2" that we played the other night - the one that resulted in killing everyone on the planet - may have some inside knowledge.

His next game is establishing a colony on Mars.

This is the latest acquisition via the Kickstarter 'process' whereby someone punts a product, people commit money to the project in return for some form of 'reward' if the project succeeds.  Designed for small scale, independent producers it's getting used by moderately mainstream companies as in this case.

Looks good, people say it's the best Lacerda yet, production qualities by this company are outstanding but this particular project was let down by the UK distribution.  This has arrived 2 months later than others in the UK got theirs simply because of one guy's arrogance in promising something he couldn't deliver (but no doubt charged for it nonetheless). As one who deeply values service and honesty, that really, really rankles.

Perhaps bizarrely, I'm considerably less irritated by one Kickstarter project I backed in 2012 which is yet to deliver anything at all (nor do I expect it ever will).
