Gently down the stream

A man with two umbrellas

What do you do on a dark wet day when you have to get a wide-angle shot on the subject of colour?

a)  You go for a walk - with a friend to stop you giving up too soon
b)  You keep revived with coffee and cake
c)  You look at people and their umbrellas.
d)  When you see a man with two umbrellas, you know your shot's in the bag! ;)))

Rather love it in mono too, so that's in Extras.

We walked south along the Navigation Canal and looked out over the meadows.  Water everywhere, only some of it where it should have been (though I'm not complaining, we don't have the appalling problems some poor people have).  We also went up onto the Hockley Viaduct where you could see the full extent of the valley's sponginess.  It looks like it will only take a small amount of rain to flood some homes along the Itchen.  I think the cathedral may float away, it sits on the surface of the water table as it is, and when the crypt is flooded (which is most of the time) it's because the water literally seeps through the foundation stones (not the cracks between them).

Many thanks to BobsBlips for hosting today's widwed..
And happy Wednesday evening  xx
