Better luck nest time

This morning it was raining again so I used the time doing jobs in the house and finishing the painting begun in my art class.

This afternoon when the rain had stopped a rare golden ball appeared in the sky. In fact it stayed sunny all afternoon so I went for a walk (there was a cold wind but it was lovely to see the sun).  I couldn't go down one of my usual lanes due to mud and deep puddles even though I was wearing wellies - I didn't fancy getting stuck.

Mrs. Swan was sitting on the beginnings of a nest in a bullrush patch on the castle moat. I hope that they'll find a less vunerable spot as it's location is  right by the path and last years eggs were smashed by vandals just before they were due to hatch.
