No Siskins were harmed...

I've been grumbling about the lack of anything different recently in the garden. The winter visitors to the garden have been conspicuous by their absence. In the garden, rather than the surrounding fields, these manifest themselves as Redpoll. Brambling and Siskin. Finally, today, we had a flying visit to the feeders from a Siskin (see extras). Not long afterwards, this stunning Sparrowhawk swooped through the garden then came to rest on the top of the feeder where he posed for a few minutes, unsuccessful this time.
