Spruce and Pine

About 10 years ago we noticed the small Norway Spruce at our door was flagging and obviously on it's last legs. It had been kept in a pot and decorated with lights at Christmas but being in a pot it needs regular watering which it didn't get enough of.
We got a new one and thought it was worth planting the dying one just to see what might happen.
10 years later you can see the result on the mound next to our house, top right of the picture is the Spruce looking very healthy and tall. Taking the bushes into account it must be 8-10 feet tall now. I have to admit I'd forgotten about it and hadn't really noticed it 'shooting up' but Marlane pointed it out to me yesterday.
Might be worth going 'large' to get a better view of the Spruce.

The reason I cropped the photo to make the Spruce top right is that in the bottom left you can see one of the two Scots Pine's that we bought and planted on 'the mound' as well, that was 2 years ago. This one is doing really well and the other one is alive and well but not so tall.

Really pleased with these and the fact that the Spruce outside our door is doing ok at the moment does not mean it is not destined for 'the mound' in the future :-)
