Hats Off

I was let out tonight, Mrs C got tickets to see a performance of The Blue Nile's album, "Hats" at Summerhall in Edinburgh. In 2018 Hats was voted Scotland's best album in the Herald and deservedly so in my opinion. The band was "Start to End", a mixture of young scottish musicians who perform various classic albums, from start to... end! I think the musicians switch around for different albums, but for Hats, Admiral Fallow's Louis Abbott (from Penicuik) was on vocals.

We love Admiral Fallow too, having last seen them in December and for Christmas Mrs C gifted me their new album they haven't released yet, nor is a release date announced. I am still not sure that classifies as a Christmas present?

Anyways, they indeed perform the album perfectly, from start to... ok you've got it, plus for the encore "Tinseltown in the Rain". We've only seen The Blue Nile once, in 1996, they had 4 albums  between 1982 and 2004, Hats being 30 years ago in 1989., and they didn't tour that much.

It was great, and a great venue - an ex veterinary dissection room... with a lift big enough to get horses up! We took the stairs...
