Rindsrouladen

Or more properly "Rinderrouladen"  an ideal dish for a cold semi wintry day with snow and sleet. Wish I had taken a still photo of Angie preparing them.

Large thin slices of beef, covered in mustard and layered with bacon, onions & gherkins, rolled up & allowed to cook slowly for an hour or two. One of Angie's specialities but not up to her own high standards as I had on the spur of the moment bought the meat yesterday in Ottobeuren but didn't make sure we had the other ingredients. So the sauce wasn't as strong as it should be, hence the rather pale colour.

Tasted delicious to me after the cold afternoon/evening dog walk. Really noticing how much longer it is staying light so soon think I ca move to simply evening walk. Mornings seem to be as dark as ever.
