River of Flowers

By doffy

Sunday: Spring Flowers ...

... pink Bergenia, Witch Hazel bottom left, Kerria Japonica top right and mini daffodils and dark hellebores.
We had fine weather :-))
Transplanted Common Sorrel which was started from seed a month ago.
The nice kale “Red Russian” which had self seeded everywhere last autumn has made large plants which I’ve transplanted into the veg garden, there’s still a tub of them in the greenhouse which I’ll pick https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2638879352283991583
Seeds started off today: Swiss chard “5 colours”, kale “dwarf green curled” (thanks Jo xxx), Jersey walking-stick kale, beetroot “Cylindra”, perpetual spinach, chives, cabbage: Kalibos, Greyhound and red drumhead - I’ll pick some of these as micro greens. Also finished off the packet of Skirret - I’ve got 6 good plants from last year’s sowing.
Yesterday I’d started off bush sweet peas which may go into the hanging baskets, also sowed mixed ornamental grasses, sea lavender flowers (which can be dried for winter), pot marigolds and some purple alyssum.
Nos da pawb / goodnight all xx
