The puddle detour.

There was snow on the hills as we drove west towards the Glasgow area to see our friends. We last met the weekend before we put up our Christmas tree!

After a bit of a chat about some genealogy they’ve been doing (interesting tales) we went for a wander locally.

I walked through the puddle; the others chose not to. My oldest friend held the fence for my wife and his wife (hood up, cosy in parka). The wind was biting.

We discussed trips they’ve got planned in 2020, and we relived a bit of our Amsterdam adventure last weekend. We also scoped out a bit of our Easter family trip to Skye and Raasay. Dinner was lovely, appropriately with roast root winter vegetables.

We left later than planned; we ended up discussing political leadership in Scotland and U.K. and Brexit and immigration policy implications.

The roads home were in good condition, gritters were out this afternoon as we drove through. Snow is forecast
