Tin Lizzie

We were on our way to Tractor Supply and ended up behind a Model T Ford. Just as I commented that it would make for a fun blip, the car pulled into the store parking lot right in front of us.
The owner was super friendly and told us all about the car. It is a 1927 model, the last year it was made. The car is made of wood that has a thin metal overlay. His father bought it back in the 1970's for $300. To be allowed to drive it on Maryland roads he had to replace the glass with safety glass, but pretty much everything else is original. It has a top speed of 35mph, but the owner said that he never goes over 30. He said back in the day his dad would go 40mph, but that is too much for the car now.
There are three pedals on the floor in front of the driver, left for the low and high gear, middle for reverse and right for brake (extra.) There is even a working crank on the front of the car that he demonstrated.
