Stairway To Somewhere

Met up with an old uni friend and his wife for lunch in Cheltenham. He is battling with motor neurone disease. Impressed how positive they are about it, although life is clearly getting more difficult for him.

Still on the medical front, this morning we had more events in the saga of mrsfb's hip replacement. We had a letter listing 5 potential providers, none of which was Southmead which is where the consultants and GP have said she needs to go because of her previous medical history. No initial appointments for 70-80 days anyway, and a 30 week waiting time as well. This has been going on for 2 years now. The NHS does great work, but in Gloucestershire it is becoming a bureaucratic nightmare. We did however also get a call from an occupational therapist who wants to visit us to advise on aids around the house, which it looks like we are going to need.

After lunch we popped into the town centre. It felt strangely dead to me. I got something to blip though, looking down a stairwell in Cavendish House.
