Buildings II: European main building Sabic

SABIC, based in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), is the largest petrochemical company in the Middle East. The name SABIC stands for Saudi Arabian Basic Industries Corporation.
SABIC Europe BV in Sittard is a subsidiary of SABIC and includes all SABIC activities in Europe. This location has been taken over from DSM.

There were already three large production sites in Europe, in Geleen (the Netherlands), Gelsenkirchen (Germany) and in Wilton / Teesside (England). Around 2,300 people work for the group in Europe. In mid-2007 the GE Plastics branches in Bergen op Zoom and Cartagena were also taken over. Since then, around 3,200 people in the Netherlands have been employed at SABIC, half in Sittard (head office) and Geleen, the other half in Bergen op Zoom.
