Alvito- a very sleepy place

We've  moved on,  to play at being tourists in between orienteering events. Took a very leisurely walk round the town and surrounding olive groves with cork trees. I took lots of photos and cannot choose. The main blip is a deserted square that must have been very grand once upon a time..  The extra is a postcard of various views. Note in particular the laundrette Portuguese style. It's been there donkey's years and is still used. I counted at least 2 wizened old Portuguese women scrubbing away in the cold water and hanging the washing out to dry while their other halves played dominoes.
It is an unbelievably quiet place, very few cars  or people. If it was not for the castle hotel I think there would be no visitors at all. Thank goodness for geocaching, which took us to all the highspots of this very sleepy town.  There's another wide angle  on the postcard showing the town square with our castle hotel. Definitely qualifies for Wide Angle Wednesday - A Quiet Place.
