Bailing out

This morning I went to a meeting then went to Shrewsbury on the bus, I was one of only three passengers and only five on the return journey.

The floods had gone down a lot although you might not think it from the two extras. The first is the River Severn looking to the car park where two vehicles are still parked from before the flooding. I don't think that they will be driving far!  The other extra is The Quarry (the riverside park). The river is to the right of the trees - I didn't fancy wading (or swimming) out to the bench for a sit down!

It was strange in town - the roads are open again but there was hardly any traffic when the roads are usually full of vehicles and there weren't many people walking around either.  A lot of shops had reopened but there were very few customers around.  There was a humming noise around town from the water pumps as the clear up began and my blip is of water being pumped from buildings near The English Bridge.

It must be terrible for residents and shopkeepers with the mess and damage that the water has caused and there are complaints that our prime minister hasn't visited the town as it's been so badly hit. This weekend another storm hits the country so fingers crossed that the town doesn't flood for the third time this month.
