Pseudobombax Ellipticum

This is commonly called the Shaving Brush Tree. I've been waiting for it to bloom...to test out it's name

I went out to the botanical garden armed with a razor and some shaving cream. I glanced around to see if anyone was looking, shooed the bee away, plucked the bloom, loaded my hand with the shaving cream, and dipped in the bloom. The result?

It didn't work. Unlike the real brush, the flower didn't have enough "oomph" in it to hold the cream. Thus, when I lifted it to my face, there wasn't much cream on it.

Believe what you may,
but I did shave today.

For my lies, I'll have to cower,
but it is a pretty flower.
