Oxford

This morning my son and I went over to Oxford, which is a small town on the northern side of the Waimakariri River. We went to the Farmers’ Market and bought free range eggs, sweet corn and plums. Then we visited the supermarket before going to the bridge over the Eyre River. The riverbed was completely dry and the wildflowers at the sides were almost done.

The main shot is of the Eyre bridge with gorse, fennel and evening primroses in the foreground, and Mount Torlesse and Otarama beyond. The mountains look unfamiliar from this perspective. The extra shot is of the hills behind Oxford.
