Amazingly enough, the rain stopped mid-morning so I was able to get over to that boat and get the padlock off with my angle grinder. “Hardened” was stamped on its shackle. It was as soft as cheese. Off to buy a new one. Harder. Eight on the padlock scale. Of course, as the washboards are just plywood, you can jemmy the whole thing off if you really needed to steal my new radio. And whisky.
Later a Twitter workshop along at JK’s, where we were joined by MS, late of the this parish and now down in the Borders somewhere. The three of us who Tweet on behalf of the WBRA can sometime have different approaches. "Passion with poise" is what young F, our visiting Twitter expert, advises. Nice!
Later to see Deep Waters, Todd Haynes solid thrillerish movie about DuPont and their waste policies. Great performance by Mark Ruffalo, maybe a wee bit dragged out (but it did take a while!) and surprisingly conventional with not a few familiar tropes: rainy open air funerals, underground car parks. I’ve been watching too much arthouse again.
