Dropping In

One of the most beautiful places in the Cotswolds and high on the hit list of any tourist to England is Bourton-on-the-Water. On driving past I decided to stop and see it blanketed in the snow that had engulfed the hills this morning covering the fields and trees en-route making everything so fabulously picturesque .

On one of the bridges in Bourton, taking a quick scenic snap I was startlingly immersed in a sea of gulls! A lady looking like she was dressed for an Arctic expedition had bought a WHOLE large loaf of bread and had started systematically tearing it up for the gulls and ducks; and it was like a scene from The Birds. There had been a few on the riverbank but suddenly a huge flock came screaming in almost ripping it out of her hands. More foreign speaking women came and joined her all with the same idea, and, yet another loaf appeared - being dispatched in the blink of an eye!

All the time I was there I never heard one English voice even at this time of year. Beautiful it undoubtedly is but I really wouldn't like to live there with it being so very busy in the summer months.
