Coronavirus

How many other people think that the UK has gone into a 'mad meltdown' over this Coronavirus thing? The shelves in Edinburgh shops are totally empty of anti-bacterial hand-wash loads of stuff.

Obviously it's a massive worldwide problem. But seriously?......................... We live in a very mobile world so it would be totally ridiculous to think that it won't spread all over the globe. It's going to happen. Lock-down or no lock-down.

My very lovely owner, Ann, is a 'Meet & Greeter'. Ie, she is the front-line person for meeting people from all over the world. About a month ago she got a 'Whatsapp' message from the company she works for cos no one actually talks to anyone with a couple of links to safety procedures that she should adhere to. Mainly just washing hands.

Today she has been very, very, busy 'meeting & greeting'. And horror of horrors, she actually shook hands with an Italian person …..............but was only with them for about 5 mins. Thank goodness it wasn't 15 mins. Lol! BUT the media have hyped up this situation so much that everyone is going crazy. The minute Ann got out of the flat, after shaking hands with a very nice Italian lady, she immediately got out her hand sanitizer.

Ann's hand sanitizer has been rolling around at the bottom of her handbag for about a year now. She only really uses it when she's out with me and I jump up at her and make her all muddy. Fortunately there's still quite a bit of it left because every shop we've walked past recently has big signs in the windows saying, 'NO hand sanitizer in stock.' The media has really hyped people up into panic buying.

Look at the statistics. Yes people are dying, but a lot more people have died from flu? Ann's sister even sent her a link this morning about a dog in China that had tested positive for Coronavirus and one wasn't to kiss one's dog. Well Ann doesn't kiss me anyway. She goes mad at me if I go anywhere near her face. But I don't do that because I'm a very good collie pup.

Oh and if anyone is interested.......................... because Ann couldn't buy any hand sanitizer the other day she bought some 'dettol wipes' because a nurse at her Pilates class told her it killed the Coronavirous. She never buys stuff like that. What's wrong with a cloth & water? But Ann is off to Seville at the end of the month so she will take her 'dettol wipes' to wipe down everything around her on the aeroplane.

As I say, the world is far too mobile for the Coronavirus not to spread all over. It's going to happen. FACT. But we can't help thinking that all this 'media hype' is really having a very, very, negative effect and is sending most of the country into panic mode.

What do you think Blippers??????????????????
