Eyes both ways

There are a group of duck siblings on the moat, half Indian runner and half mallard and they usually go round as a group. Some were dozing but these two were keeping watch - in different directions.

Tonight I went to the Shropshire Wildlife Trust meeting at Ellesmere where there was an illustrated talk about bird behaviour by a local bird photographer, the images were excellent. Of course it ended with the large drop in bird numbers which is a sad but inevitable part of a wildlife talk these days.

On the way home we saw the body of a tawny owl that had been run over, a very sad sight.
