Mount Grace Priory

A trip out with Mrs madwill to Northallerton today. We had a wander around the shops - the place was like a ghost town. Not sure if it is normally like that on a Sunday or if COVID-19 is keeping folks away. I’m guessing the latter as when we went for lunch in Barkers store the restaurant was almost empty. Staff were standing about and they asked us if we wanted any extra food! Had a very nice roast beef dinner :-)

After lunch we headed off to Mount Grace Priory - an English Heritage property. On the way in I spotted this old door in the wall. The sun was creating a nice glow on the stonework and casting  shadows of some of the trees nearby.

A couple of extras of the abbey ruins.

We had a cup of tea in the new cafe there and then headed home.
