Brown-headed Cowbirds

The feeders were full of Brown-headed Cowbirds with the excess on the ground below eating the fallen seed and even some of them eating the seed that has fallen into the water tray (extra). No seed goes to waste!

This morning I put two corn cobs out for the squirrels. It was only a matter of minutes before there was a squirrel taking a corn cob and heading over the creek bridge. He was met on the bridge by someone bigger and so he had to give it up but in the tussle the cob went in the creek.

The second cob was retrieved by yet another squirrel and quickly taken down the length of the backyard and carried up the large oak tree.

When we got home from church we went outside to get the corn cob out the creek but it was no longer in the creek. Critters had already retrieved it!
