Odds On

At Huntingdon races today there was a not surprisingly smallish crowd. But this would mainly have been due to the Cheltenham effect. Still, some stalwarts turned out to show off their knees and study the form.

I came away about level on betting. I would have been ahead but my pal who I was with told me to look after his binoculars which meant I couldn't leave the table to put a bet on the next race. So when the race started I was too late. Meanwhile my chum was happily chatting to some of his friends. And the horse I was going to back went and won.
