SMUHA Cancelled???

It's been a lovely calm day, and sunny all day.  Even with the sunshine, it's been cold.

Another day working on the museum desk, and it's been busy.  Cruise ship Magellan arrived into Lerwick, and most are angry about it, due to the Coronavirus outbreak.  Why risk over 1000 people arriving here, and then travelling on to Orkney next?  They already might be infected.  There was five new cases today, bringing it up to 11 infected here.  Schools are now closing, and various other businesses.  Met up with friend Julie and headed out walkies with the dogs this evening.  Big Brian and Madeline popped by for a cuppa after.  Now feet up by the fire. 

Due to the serious outbreak we now have, most large events, and smaller ones are cancelling to stop the spread, including the South Mainland Up Helly Aa, which was meant  to be today.  A brand new UHA has started today, a local one near mam's.  A small gathering, with a torch procession and burning the Sprightly III.  Shame I couldn't make it to the burning and party.  James Dodge naming the galley, and will be the Guizer Jarl later.  Taken at the head of Aithsvoe, Cunningsburgh.
