Sunbeams

Despite the weather

The instinct for survival is strong in this plant. I first noticed the primrose flowering two or three weeks ago in the bank of the lane running down to the farm. It is still thriving and the buds keep coming.

North Somerset had heavy snowfalls last night while we got away with a few centimetres. The Blackdown Hills had 27 centimetres and the road from Minehead to Taunton was a driver's nightmare. A journey taking under an hour took over six hours. There was a woman in labour who was offered the floor of a bus nearby but fortunately for her an ambulance coming the other way succeeded in reaching her and so she found a safe haven.

The rubbish was collected but not the recycling!
